Introduction course


For beginners and everyone curious about yoga @ Yogashala

Are you curious about yoga and if it is suitable for you? This introduction course is designed for anyone new to yoga.  We’ll introduce you to a dynamic yoga practice and the quiet practice of Yin yoga. The course context is a thorough approach to the basics of yoga practice and prepares you for joining classes at Yogashala.


The course is based on our teaching method, which is accessible and comprehensive.  It holds the keys to safe and effective yoga practice with its elements postures, pranayama (breathing techniques) and meditation.

What we are going to do:

exploration of basic yoga principles & theoretical explanation
this will be done in basic and accessible postures (in flow)
introduction to the breath – movement relationship
exploration of the foundation of yoga postures
learn how to enter and maintain standing postures safely
introduction to Yin yoga postures and their impact
explanation of the difference between a Yin and a dynamic yoga practice


Based on sensitivity, we will invite you to explore the postures within your own current capacity. There will be sufficient time for practice and intellectual understanding. Over time, repetitive practice of postures (in flow) and techniques will result in embodiment.

We will guide you verbally and hands-on. Each part of the course will be introduced step-by-step. The maximum number of attendees is 10.


Yoga is a good challenge to explore your physical capacity. Besides that it stimulates an increase of strength and flexibility. Through focus balance is developed and then with deep concentration a greater awareness is achieved.

The course will cover a 3-session introduction to yoga. 2 sessions are dedicated to Dynamic yoga practice, 1 sessions to Yin yoga. You will be well prepared to then join our variety of weekly classes.
