Kundalini yoga Intensive

“You should make yourself so happy, that by looking at you, other people become happy.” - Yogi Bhajan

Yogashala teacher Chris’ yoga background includes more than 35 years of Kundalini yoga practice. Chris is very passionate about the practice, because in his experience, Kundalini yoga is a great stepping stone to physical and mental health. The impact that practicing this yoga had on his body and mind helped him to live with more awareness and satisfaction, transform negative emotions into an energetic feeling, and life’s problems into opportunities. Chris is pleased to share his experiences with you in this Intensive!

Kundalini yoga is a practice that can very directly initiate a change of awareness. Basis for this change is the synthesis of strong, dynamic movement or postures, and breathing techniques. The practice is based on a great number of Kriyas. A Kriya is either a pose, or a complete set of poses/ exercises with a purpose, aiming for a general improvement of the body’s vitality and mental health.  more info about Kundalini yoga

The Intensive will cover a variation of Kriyas linked with proportional periods of relaxation in silence, and meditation. Meditations can be with sound or in silence, in movement or stillness. Prepare to break a sweat and gasp for breath! But also be guided into stillness...

Yoga & the 5 elements; an Intensive

Yoga posture practice feels satisfying and nourishing if one knows about, and is able to apply, the 5 yoga techniques in their expression of the 5 elements and their mutual relationship.

5 yoga techniques are asana, pranayama, bandha, vinyasa and drushti.
5 elements are earth, air, fire, water and space.

Each of the 5 techniques symbolizes one of the 5 elements: how does this apply to yoga practice? Which technique symbolizes which element? The intensive will provide you answers regarding these questions, theoretically and practically. Hopefully after the intensive you will be able to distinguish which element(s) need your special attention and require more awareness in your yoga practice! And that might be different every day ...

The intensive will include yoga practice and is suitable for everybody who holds some knowledge of vinyasa based yoga styles (yoga in flow) and wishes to deepen her / his knowledge.

Yogashala Yogi's testimonials

"The Yoga Intensive left me feeling incredibly peaceful, yet alert, with a closer connected feeling not only to the other participants in the class, but also with the nature and the very air around about me as I walked outside. The class started with a beautiful , somewhat challenging (for me!) Yin practice , which really allowed the Dynamic practice to go deeper. I truly felt a sense of harmony between my inner and outer body as I released more tension and my body opened up naturally. This was rounded off by a short meditation accompanied by Anke reading out a beautiful short piece of deeply profound poetry. It really was an incredible experience and I was left very satisfied knowing there will be another soon." provided by Kevin Larkin; Kevin has been following classes and workshops at Yogashala since 2007
