Movement & Stillness in historic footsteps

Yoga retreat from 13 - 15 July 2012
.
at 'De Weyst', a former Capuchin Monastery in Handel, Brabant

We invite you to join us in a 3-day retreat in a venue that breathes, speaks and vibrates history throughout. A former Capuchin Monastery that has been available for suitable events since 1984 will be our destination for 3 days of recuperation filled with yoga practice, meditation, delicious food and sufficient time to relax and renew. The Monastery is embedded in beautiful natural surroundings with a garden attached. As Handel is a small village, you can easily go for a walk across the meadows or in the forest.

Yoga practice

We’ll start the retreat on Friday afternoon and will continue on Sat + Sun mornings with 3-hour sessions of nourishing pranayama, posture practice and meditation. On Saturday evening we’ll invite you to voluntarily join a meditation session; several meditation techniques could be the subject here. Meditation sessions will take place in the former meditation room of the monks. We choose this room as one can easily sense the great atmosphere and positive vibrations that still seem to be present in every brick and stone of the Monastery, highly concentrated in this room.
Both  Yogashala teachers  Chris and Anke will be present at all sessions.

For whom?

We invite everybody who’s familiar with the concept of Vinyasa yoga (asanas and vinyasas) to join the retreat. In each 3-hour session a sequence of Yin yoga postures will be integrated.
Our teachings are based on a step-by-step approach of postures and sequences in combination with a couple of principles that characterize all instructions and are the guiding light in the classes.

We are all functioning at a small fraction of our capacity to live life fully...consequently, the actualizing of our potential can become the most exciting adventure of a life time.
